What Causes Snoring?

Snoring occurs when the muscles in the roof of your mouth (soft palate), throat, and tongue relax during the deep sleep cycle. This procedure is less invasive than traditional surgical treatments and is typically performed under local anesthesia. During the procedure, a tiny, needle-like electrode creates a small lesion below the surface of the tissues that results in the shrinking of the overlying tissues while it heals. The healing time for the procedure is approximately three to eight weeks.
